a bit off a different interess ...post .

Yeah, what kind of musik do you guys play in the car while cruising along ,in daytime any musik will do just about ,but on longer night trips i think the example of musik in the videos below would be an exellent antisleep drug ,lol.
This musik i added here is a killer for the W140 Speakers ,wow ,i cant turn the system up ,m to scared ,lol,it's not my style of musik but for a change it's ok ,i'm more into the classic musik , sort of ,Not pavarotti style but still like some of his opera songs ,"Vincero" for example .
After a long 10 hour driving trip ,if i would have had this at about 3-4 o'clock in the morning to listen to i wont need to be driving with 1 eye open & 1 closed ,i could even get rid of the toothpicks ,lol.
I think that the kind of musik below does suit our W140's well ,are you keen inaf to lift the volume but and age counts to i guess.
If you like this type musik there is more on you tube ,these are just some random samples of it .

Warning,Adjust your PC Volume .
Good sound is 7.1 surround sound for pc

There should be plenty Aspirin come with that kind of, like you call it, music
Hip Hop all the way buddy!!!

2Pac is my favourite music to play in my S-Class.. "Picture me rolling in my 500 Benz, I got no love for these n####s, there's no need to be friends!"

Fabulous
Maino
Gucci Mane
Currency
Drake (when ladies in the car)
The Game
Kanye West
Notorious BIG
Don Dada (Destruction Ent)

And any other good Hip Hop / RnB tracks..

My W140 HATES hard rock/heavy metal music. Theres no bass or any thump, I feel like I'm listening with my ipod earphones :surrender:

Then again, the target demographic for S-Class buyers arent the type to listen to that kind of stuff :D

That being said, most of the songs being played are of jazz variety, electronica, house, with the occasional hip hop and rap. I just try to play music that sounds best in the 140, everything else gets ignored :(

ha ha ha I just love those types of replies. :p

for me its got to be Brian Adams or Dire Straits not everybodys taste but there you go
Well I am 69 and I like a little Brian Adams and really like Dire Straits ! But give me some good ole timey Rock and Roll with a little long hair (not the artists) thrown in! and I am a happy driver!!

Smokie
I had the long hair butr that was a while ago :(
So i'm not alone on this after all ,i dont thing that the musik above could actually be called musik to listen to exept for staying awake in an emergency beeing confused ,what's happening, lol .
I have never been a fan of heavy metal musik or rock this just caught my ears while looking at the new S class video by accident , i stick to my classics ,at least i can understand what they sing about .
Old is always best ....

The Bass in my car was way to high even turning it down didnt help much (to pitchy),the whole interior makes that BoomBoom effect & thats at only 50 volume without any additional subs in the trunk ,any higher and the speakers will blow .

I had the hair. Even that was a while ago.
Nowadays I only have the ring or occasional blow over if I happen to let it grow lol.

Music,
My favourite:
Also love a good classic piece, really a lot of mixed stuff. No rap, sorry.
Lately rediscovering Pink Floyd and Roger Waters (solo), KAOS Radio, awesome tracks.
Nice one NubyOz
This is more of what i like in the car .
Thanks for mentioning Bryan Adams i didnt know this song was his & many many more .

I'd always bump to Russian and Ukrainian music like:

German rap from Bushido or Kitty Kat, but occasionally some Michael Jackson, Elvis, Rolling Stones, etc etc just depends on the mood. Thanks mom for getting me hooked on 50s and 60s music lol

Cepera, Potap ft Nastya Kamenskih, Kacta, and the like were the norm for me.
This one is for you MafiaDon,lol.

This is a good tune as well ,sounds strong but in English please ......lol . 50's/60's ,love it .
I'm listening to the mix of all the above written (almost):

house (also Tiesto + Armin Van Buuren and others)
hip-hop (2 Pac also plus many others)
rock (Dire Straits, Pink Floyd)
hard (Megadeth, Metallica)
pop (Celine Dion concerts, Michael Jackson)
blues (Eric Clapton concerts)
sort of classical (Andrea Bocelli)

so a wide range.

Not even one inch of the sound system has remained from the factory one: everything was changed, head unit, speakers, cables, + 3 amplifiers in the trunk (1 for sub, 1 for the front, 1 for the rear), i don't find any better pictures now than the ones put on my car audio service's website:

http://www.paradoxautohifi.hu/index.php?page=galeria&spage=miniaturok&keywords[marka]=Mercedes

(and there is my 600, written wrongly as S600 instead of 600 SE)

+ 1 subwoofer box (that is not in the photos above) including this woofer:
:: Ground Zero :: Subwoofer / GZHW 30X

+ 2 monitors (1 in the head unit, 1 put on the center console, seeable and adjustable from behind)

that's all, nothing more in (yet).

The large room in the car is perfect for making a good sound system, the only problem is, that the trunk is quite well isolated from the passenger cab, and that the fuel tank is behind the back seat, so a strong bass part is needed, that's why i have a sub amplifier with 1200 watt on 4 ohm RMS power :D

Back to the topic: i'm listening only to dvds/cds, that have a good sound quality. The one that hasn't, comes out directly after being put in :)

If you have dvd payer in your 140 then i suggest you to try these 2 dvds that have the best sound quality among hundreds of discs:
Celine Dion: Live in Las Vegas DVD 2007
Eric Clapton: One more car, one more rider (concert in LA, 2001)

Thats a lot of sound equipment you installed there Greg,i bet the sound is awesome and you wont blow your speakers with a bit of that DJ Tiesto .
The only thing standard left in mine are the speakers and original wiring ,the radio is to powerfull for the speakers but it's just inaf ,loud musik in cars while driving is illegal here anyway that's why i dont go to the extend to upgrade those as well ,cruising along with the right volume is just brilliant .
Good Job Greg ,nice system .
1.) DUBSTEP(blackmill, flux pavilion)
2.) JOHNNY CASH
3.) METAL(rammstein, pantera, ect)
... more rammstein
4.) CLASSIC ROCK(yes, led zeppelin, ect.)

i like me some dubstep:D

My stereo is custom tailored to my liking an performance, you think you have bass? try 16Hz on a 32' Open Wood...

Sure I listen to ALMOST anything except for anyone who sounds angry....
