My CDI-figures won't help you but I would suggest comparing the factory mileage figures for your current car with the factory figures of the S550. Mileage is very much dependent on the driver and traffic but should be pretty predictable from the real figures of your current car against those quoted by the factory. Perhaps a bit more difficult to compare and estimate if your current car is not an MB.

Of course S550 owners are welcome to give their figures, hopefully with a description of their driving style and the roads they drive, city versus long distance etc. etc.

I get about 350 miles per fill up of 20-21 gallons of premium fuel on my 4matic. The car is lesss than a month old, so maybe the figures will change as the vehicle gets past the break in stage.

My S550 gets about 17 mpg in the city with several daily drives of no more than 6 miles at speeds averaging 30 mph. On the highway I get 24 averaging about 80 mph. Have noticed the fuel economy improving slightly after I put about 5,000 miles on the car

My S600 got 20 mpg on my latest long trip of interstate traveling using distronic.

I was talking with a w221 owner at a gas station and he mentioned that on the highway he had achieved 27mpg in his s550 from seattle to bellingham. Wowza!

07 s550 4matic; car is two weeks old. 500 miles on the clock.
highway = 25mpg; city = 17.5mpg according to the on-board computer

I get nearly 18 in city driving and about 23 highway.

I was told from some owners that they get 23-25 on hwy!!! If so, not bad :thumbsup:
