Just had service B done at 15.5K. 8 litres of Mobil 1 was £85 + VAT! Total for service was £227 incl. VAT. Actually not as bad as I thought but still expensive for an oil and filter change [:0]Slk-Gill - 4/8/2006 10:23 PM
I have got a service coming up in around 1500 miles, any idea what MB charges?
They may make Halfords look like a real bargain [][

So thats almost 100 notes for the oil then against 80 at Halfords. So even if they bought it from Halfords they would be making a good margin.phil45110 - 4/8/2006 8:52 AM

As long as you don't have two punctures at the same time.Slk-Gill - 4/8/2006 10:01 AM
Just had a look at the Mobilo Life part of the MB site and it says:
Yes, MobiloLife will cover you for two years* for:
- Tyre Damage
When picking up my car I was told service C would cost £300 - £400 due to the extra work involved. When I asked what the extra work was, I was told "We carry out a lot more inspection work, we actually take all the wheels off and check the brakes for wear!" Wow, that's £150 for taking 4 wheels off. Good value, I don't think [So thats almost 100 notes for the oil then against 80 at Halfords. I am sure the local dealer said 300 for the first service 227 sounds a lot better I will check nearer the time.

I am not sure what the dealers charge for mobil 1 either here or in the UK. But, I can go to the Exxon-Mobil station here an pick it up for $2.49/quart when it is on sale. I bought a quart a couple of months ago to top off my slk.
I second both those statements,Slk-Gill - 4/8/2006 10:23 PM
I'm told costco is cheap if you know a member, otherwise get on the train / ferry to France.[]
In my experience most MB dealers will accept oil without question, give your local dealers service dept a call and see what they say.daj - 4/9/2006 12:07 PM
Also, has anyone in UK provided their dealer with oil and it has been accepted to be used in the service?
