I recently had my whole engine taken apart and cleaned since the pervious owner before me had somebody fiddle with the front cover and all my seals were broken for my coolant line leaking into my oil pan. But now whenever i shift my engine will shake for 20-30 seconds then stop, also my check engine light came on. Is the sign of a bad transmission mount? Or is it my transmission going? I'm in college right now so all my tools are at home, so my ability to check certain things are going to be limited. Thanks in advance for everybody's help!

If your check engine light came on, then you have codes, most likely misfire codes. Go to Autozone or Advance Auto and get them to retrieve your codes, then post back with them.

I got my codes read and it came back with a p0303 which the guy at autozone said was a cylinder 3 misfire, and after i checked under my engine cover I saw that one of my spark plug boxes wasn't even screwed down, it was the farthest back on the driver side, is that cylinder 3?
And mars478 yeah its me!

No. Cyl. #3 is on the passenger side.

Could be a faulty plug, plug wire, or distributor. You're gonna need some tools for this.
Pull the plug and check, and get an Ohm meter to check the plug wire.

I didn't see any of the connections loose so what could it be?
Go to the #3 cylinder and make sure that the A wire and the B wire are connected to the correct spark plug. Look for the A & B on the engine.

Also make sure that the wires are secure on the plug.

I went an unplugged the wires and then reattached them and the shaking was gone when put it in reverse, but should I be concerned since I just dropped 2700 to get this engine working again?

Was it gone when you put it in drive?
Yes I took it around the parking deck just to make sure going between drive and reverse multiple times.

I mean it could've been that the guy who rebuilt it simply forgot to plug in the plug wires, but it might help the forum if you post the problem that led to the car getting its engine rebuilt
