So my trucks radio recently stopped working and after reading a lot of threads on here I decided to pop the radio out and double check the connections. After unplugging and replugging everything to ensure a snug and tight fit I powered the radio back up. Now it's asking me for a code, I've already called the dealer but they want to charge me $35 for the code. I find this appalling since I purchased the car from them.

My question is can anyone look up the radio code based on the following info?
ML320 2002
Model: RA4210
Serial: AL 4210 1 11 22849
Vin: 4JGAB4E52A322126

Also is there a guide to replacing the amp and or radio with an aftermarket one? A guide with pictures would be awesome! I actually already purchased an Alpine to replace the stock radio in the event that it is faulty.
Thanks in advance!

This is the first time I have heard of a dealer charging for a radio code.

Are there any other dealers within a reasonable distance?

Yes you can do a head unit swap, but will have to replace some components due to the
fact your current system is using the fiber optic for signals to and from the amp and
the 6 disc changer.
