Hi - I am new here, but I certainly have read a world of valuable info on my ML320 over the last 6 months(saved me a fortune). I thank this site for that. On my way home tonight, the driver side electric window would not go up - it goes down, and all other windows work fine - I kinda sensed a problem a few days ago when it was acting like it was "stopping" - meaning - i pulled-let off-pulled, etc, and it went up - now, it does nothing when I pull up - is it something on the console - is there a sensor there, that tells it up and down, or do I have a real problem I can't fix myself this time - lol(hope not)! Any info anyone could provide would be greatly appreciated - Thanks!

Awesome - Thanks a lot - took a couple of hours, but that worked great - a little tricky, but then again - isn't everything! Thanks again!
thanks for the instructions. Took about 20 minutes all in. I dont see how it could have taken you 2 hours to do it? What trouble were you having ?

The assembly was very simple to remove. The only pain in the bum was removing the big plastic plane that help id the switch circuit boards.

Window Problem (HELP!)

Okay so the rocker switch broke on my ML320 for the driver side window. I was initially able to roll it up by pressing the far right prong and it went up fine. Then my genius sister decided to use something METAL to push the prong and it sparked and now it wont work! One week now without a working window....please help! :crybaby2:

Oh and we replaced the entire switch board just in case and still nothing.

Driver Window Switch connection fixed!!

I don't know very much about vehicles beyond checking for oil and recognizing some noises but I was able to follow these instructions and have the driver window up and running in 30 min. I knew this was my problem as it started to show signs in the last two days... problem for me was I had a console issue in the past that left the screw casings cracked. So the mechanic apparently took some sort of glue and glued the four screws and casings to attach to the console. I had to break the glue seal to get the switch case detached from the console. I then put it all back together and re glued it and placed some zip ties on it for a couple hours for the glue to dry. I then just popped it back in and vwalla!!! it is working!!! I am wondering if getting a small piece of copper wiring or copper foil to wrap around the little cam to add height? Would this work?? I have a feeling its gonna get bent down again soon. My car has been put through the mill but I am determined to get 300,000 onto it! Thanks so very much for posting this DIY info.. more please.. my driver door main lock isn't working working either. I can only lock the other three doors. Any DIY info on that using household tools only? lol!

SOLVED Yes I said solved

I have had my 99 ML320 since 2000. It has 189,000 miles and it seems like I have had to replace almost every nut and bolt with breakdowns increasing over the years. I have had the vehicle maintained and above and beyond as I have cancer and after the divorce, guess who got the "non-new truck, car, van"?, I rely on my ML. I keep the exterior in good condition as well.

HOW TO FIX THE 99 ML320, in this case front passenger side, power window when it will NOT GO UP!

1. Get a pair of pliers (putting electrical tape on both sides is recommended so it won't scratch anything, and open up the players to their greatest width

2. Put the pliers on both sides of the switch not working (it helps to put the pliers towards the front with good tension)

3. Gently rock the switch left to right with an occasional backward pull and the black power window switch will come off leaving a white/yellowish plastic "skeleton"

4. Gently pull the white/yellowish plastic skeleton up as you normally would to put the window up and give it a few moments to engage

5. It should work, as I have had to do this at least 6 times over the years and it always worked UNLESS the actual power window regulator/motor is broken, and though this is temporary fix it will get the window up

LAST BIT OF ADVICE - there are 2 very good YouTube videos that walk you through,, and I am not a mechanic but I was able to do it easily after buying the 4 power window switch panel online with a warranty, (1) HOW TO REPLACE THE 4 SWITCH PANEL AND/OR (2) HOW TO REPLACE JUST ONE SWITCH IN THE PANEL. Either of these will take you step by step in real time and it took me about 15 minutes to complete and PLEASE use screwdrivers that are magnetically made (i.e. so it will hold onto the screws after removal) AND I recommend that you take the largest refrigerator magnet, turn it over so the magnetic side is face up, to put the screws onto so they won't get lost.

THANK YOU to everyone at www.benzworld.org and to the members whose advice has literally saved me thousands. Take care
