I have ml320 2000 guys, whenever I start it up it makes a weird noise around the fan belt and the noise stops when I'm driving at more than 45 mph but when I stop on a light starts again, it sounds like a messed up dryer.
Any suggestions?

my 1998 ml had a clicking noise and you only heard it when you start the car and on red lights. I changed my idle pulley and the noise was gone. To check if its a pulley take a long screw driver and put it in the middle of the pulley where the screw is and put the end of the screw driver to your ear and see if you here and clicking. Thats my only idea. or it can also be the fan clutch.
