As I will probably placing my order for a 2006 ML350 next week, I am curious if those who have placed orders would share what their pricing was above invoice. This would certainly help me in final negotiations. Many Thanks

AutoSaurus is paying $1,000 over invoice ($3,270 off list):

Mike122470 got $1,000 off list (says he could have gotten $2,500 if special ordered):

I, and many others, are paying MSRP. Good luck.

Greg - Thanks for the response. The dealer's offer so far is $2,000 off MSRP which would equate to $2,000 over invoice. Enjoy your new purchase.

So the vehicle is just coming out now, and already some buyers are getting significant discounts. How much of this is due to slowing SUV sales in general and plenty of competition, vs. the high cost of the W164 and some perceived shortcomings?

I'd wager money that MB will have incentives within two years.

On LR3's there are no discounts other than "at cost" pricing on accessoreis. So, the LR3's are doing quite well despite gas prices and competition.

Which means, IMHO, ML's are not selling. I hope I'm wrong.

Well, I've heard of several reports of LR3s at discount.

Well let me establish that I've purchased several vehicles from this particular dealership for both personal and business use. This purchase is personal and not my first MB from them.

I've never signed a buyers contract nor ever put a deposit down. I have a very good relationship with them; mind you they are small but the only import luxury brand in town.

I hoping that those that have gotten discounts are in situations like mine and not b/c the ML is not moving off the lots.

I was in a dealer this weekend who quoted $2-300 off sticker in the thick of negotiation. That's it. He said "Mercedes doesn't make money on many cars...we're going to on this one". Arrogance plus. For a pimped out Pacifica from Alabama.

Sheesh. Meanwhile, they're regularly selling Cayennes at $5K off sticker, even better on lo-mi demos. I feel a conversion happening.

Pimped out Pacifica? Wow, you're really deep. Yeah, they both have four wheels.

First they call the R Class a Pacifica look-a-like and now the M Class? What a stretch.

No similarities at all.

ok, ok...maybe I was a little harsh. Gotta tell you though, I've got two colleagues all who are probably exiting the ML after four or five years. After driving it, I'm just not "wow", great Mercedes quality....I may end up going to the e320 4matic wagon.

Can anyone else shed light on prices paid? I am actually looking to order two ML350’s. I will be buying one, as well as a family member in another state, but we will be buying them at the same dealer, to hopefully save a few bucks. We are looking to order the ML’s due to color and option constraints. How much do you think is a fair offer? My out of state relative has tried the dealer and they have not budged from MSRP. My dealer has offered $1000 off MSRP. The number I have in my head is $1000 over invoice. We will be purchasing two ML’s at the same time. Does a $1000 over invoice sound fair? I have a good report with my dealer, but was disappointed with their offer. Any advice you can give would be much appreciated.

HOMBOGERN-
your profile doesn't list your "location"; where are you? I may be able to refer you to a dealer that can help you out.

You can also PM or email me if you like.

A lot depends on how large a geographic area you are willing to shop in. Obviously the larger the area the better chance of finding a dealer who will discount to a greater extent. There is one dealer on ebay who will discount $2500 off MSRP but the shipping costs to your location could be $500 to a $1000. In general it seems that the going discount is $1000 to $2000 off MSRP. It also depends on if the car is in stock or needs to be ordered and at what point in the month you are willing to buy and take delivery. If you can get MB to offer you the gas promotion on a purchase before Sept., that is worth another $500 in gas. Good Luck.

AND include as standard equipment several of today's options. MB has to in order to compete in the market with this model.

I know the W 164's styling is matter of personal taste, but as for me it just doesn't send me. It looks as if a Chevy SUV and an Acura SUV had an illicit affair, one became pregnant as a result, and a W 164 popped out nine months later.

There are postings on edmunds about folks getting almost $ 3-4.5K discounts (approx. $ 500 - 1500 under invoive).

Make sure you at least contact a few dealers via e-mail before handing over your check while drooling over the new car smell

The original price of the car for dealer is $36495/- and add options to the price. Like trim Packg costs $2046/-, sunroof costs $1293/ so the total cost of the above vehicle is 39834/- for dealer. your price should be around 40500/-
