Noticed something odd today while washing the car that I've never noticed before. The door glass on the left side of the car, including the rear quarter window, is Sigla, as is the rear window. The right side is all Saint Gobain. All glass has the MB tri-star logo.

Is this common? Was there a recall on the double-glazed door glass that would have caused it to have been replaced? Nothing shows up on the CARFAX report.:wtf:

My car is the same way. One window was broken at some point and I changed the other out due to the seal between the double panel drying out.

Okay, but how was it originally? I don't see any evidence of the windows being replaced...except for the windshield.

Guess I'm answering my own question...just saw a '96 S420...exactly the same! Appeared to have all original glass, including the windshield. Sigla windshield, all left side glass and rear window...but all right side glass was Saint Gobain. Anyone want to confirm or debate this practice by the factory?
