Hi guys

I was wondering if anyone has installed those mirror with the blinkers on them which are available on all new Mercs. was just wondering if anyone has made a post on how you can install them and whether you still retain all the functions such as the mirrors folding in. I am considering buying a pair off the net, they are not cheap so i wanted to know if anyone has done it before sucessfuly.

I purchased mine off ebay and found the instructions on how to connect on this site. Couldn't find anyone willing to connect them to make ithem work proper.

I ended up taking a passenger mirror out backing out of my garage, so I had to purchase a new mirror/motor ($395) and installed myself. Crushed the new blinking mirror that never worked had to replace with the previous one and now have one blinking mirror dover (not working) and a reguler non-blinking cover on the passenger side.

After I replace the rotors and pads on my 1998 S320, I will attempt again, by purchasing the blinking mirrors again, get them painted, maybe this time I will install myself and have someone with the instructions I got of this web site conncect the blinking mirror. Just try a search under "Blinking Mirrors" and you should get the instructions.

OEMs are better quality, just had to say that, as the new ones vibrate a little when in motion, the OEM one's are rock solid.

Thanks for the info, the ones im purchasing of E-bay are white and they have to be repainted as well. I saw a picture of someone who done it the car was white and it looked very elegant. I am probably going to buy them but let a auto electrician install them as i have no idea how the wiring goes when installing them to the blinkers

I played with the idea of those mirrors for a while until my tech guy (a former electric specialist at the dealership) advise me against it.

He says that the electrical system on W140s are more fragile than an endanger ecosystem on a tropical forest. Anything that you may add to it will certainly give you trouble sooner or later.

Don't forget the shape of the early W140's (post 95) have a completely different sized wing mirror assembly - so unless your car is late 95 onwards you'll have to replace the entire unit to fit the winker indicators that are availabe.

I have seen some companies in Germany that offer both mirror types (pre and post-facelift) with blinkers. Not sure about e-bay.

Thanks for the advice i might not get them after all. I have 1994 S320 how can i tell if it is a post or pre vehicle, compliance date is 07/1994

I think the old shape ran up until 95.

The indicators that are offered for the older shape are apparently a 'clip on' unit that makes the over-all assembly bulky and look very ugly (from what I heard)
