Nice Nick!
Cheers all, I am very pleased, I know its not for all as its the SE hence the fact there were only a small amount made but personally I have always thought the SEL loses something.
Its rarity appeals to me too..

I agree about the SE. That's why I like my W116 450SE. Would LOVE to have a 560SE.

There was a 560 SE near me a few years back. It was sold immediately at about $2600

Tasty!

Wow!

I love those. All the SEL advantages except less passenger seat legroom, and the great advantages of a closer-coupled, sportier, more nimble handling and with the sexier look of the short wheelbase version, plus all the late Gen II upgrades, PLUS rarity and exclusivity!

Good you grabbed it, A nice interior/exterior color combo, too!

Well bought! Congrats!

My sentiments exactly...

I have always gone for something different and this car ticks the box in a similar way.
Trouble is I might sell Helga now my 420 as having 2 SE is a bit silly and one is bound to get neglected.

Still plenty of content for the forums to come I expect as I work my way through it...

No offence meant but I must say I detested what the US regs did to the bumpers and lights
I have had lots of XJ Jaguars and the US bumpers and lights made them look so bad..

Has that rule gone now? what was the history of that?

I agree but the w116 SEL loses more IMHO.
