not really. i was just curious how the engine got toasted like that.
Well being the plastic air filter housing is still intact, vacuum hoses, dist cap covers, the paint on the hood is still there
I'd say there was very little fire related action in front as a opposed to
the totally destroyed rear of the car.
Again, just a guess on my part.
Then there's the hundreds of leaking fuel filter hoses I've seen and replaced
so maybe not really a guess but a good chance that's what happened.

On a more serious note, I agree with Clark's assessment as a leaking fuel line hose being the prime suspect. And if that hose was aftermarket or DIY rebuild, then this really is no big surprise.
A leaking fuel line along with torn, worn or missing fuel pump terminal boots is a bad combination.
