I have a 2004 C240 (112 engine) - engine will not crank (turn). Key turns on, power to accessories, radiator fan running but engine will not crank. We had a significant rain storm last week (12" in 1 day) and I was only able to start it 1 time - it ran for a min. and cut off - now it will not crank. Battery reading is 12.5 and all fuses ok (replaced 52 with a 20A fuse). Codes are P0221, P0456, P0335. Pulled top off on fuse and relay box in left engine compartment to ensure that it could dry out if that was the problem - but to no avail. What else should I check?

2004 C240 will not crank
Car still will not start (engine will not crank), only sound is radiator fan blower turning full RPM's. When I turn the key to position 3 nothing happens (except blower motor sound and dash lights up). When I turn the ignition key back to the "0" position and remove the key the odometer mileage & temp reading stay on. What should I try next?

First of all disconnect the battery for at least 10 minutes and then try again, but I fear you have major computer/module problems and will need SDS diagnostics to get anywhere with this one.
I have already taken the battery out and had it tested.

Check #4 diagnostics are now required to get anywhere with this one.
What is check #4 diagnostic? Could this be a starter issue?
