I have a 1990 420SEL and looking for new tires. I am trying to decide between the Mich Primacy MXV4 and the Mich Pilot Exaltos for a W126 420SEL. I have read the reviews on tirerack.com and discounttire.com. Both rank them well, but tirerack gives the Primacy's the nod where Discount gives the Exaltos the nod. I am having difficulty discerning the differences between the two.

For my w126 is there any advice on one over the other?

Secondly, I am thinking of going with a little bigger tire a 225/60-15. It is only a +.3 using the tire calculator. Are there any concerns in doing this?

Thanks.

The bigger tires should be no problem-- I will say that I didn't like the MXV4s I used to have whenever it rained, and IIRC you have more wet days that I do in So. California... Check the wet traction #s on the Tirerack site and pick the better one. Michelins are good tires and stock for MB, so not a bad choice either way.

Best,
Dave
