Beginning soon (maybe this month) MercedesSource is going to do a series on a rolling restoration of a R107 380sl.
Here's a quote from the email I just received from MercedesSource... So the long awaited video manuals and repair kits for the R107 will begin in February. :)

MercedesSource has done a zillion videos on many other models of Mercedes but they have virtually ignored the R107. Lets hope this is the start of something big. (y)

Having viewed a few of their existing vids on youtube, this is good news. It will be interesting to see the repair kits that they come up with, and for which variants of the 107 series. Thanks for letting us know, Ed.

Yep, Kent is the man - looking forward to this one! I've got some kits from him, very happy.

I thought he hated the 380SLs. I heard him state in one of his videos that the 380SLs weren't worth bothering with. I wonder what changed his mind.

I’m on the mailing list and saw the email, too. I replied that I was really looking forward to the series but received an auto-reply saying I needed to use their website if I wished to send a message. Regardless, I am looking forward to seeing what they come up with.

I'm sure its sales.... there are plenty of SLs out there and a lot of people looking for info. Not sure why he picked a 380 though considering the opinion stated.

He first got smashed 450 (I think) but decided it was too far gone. He then came upon the 380 and it looked too good to pass up. It was running and drivable and Kent loves what he calls rolling renovations. Cars that he can drive as he works on them. Perhaps he thinks the 560 has been done enough... who knows, I'm just glade he decided on a 380.

Wonder if the single row chain has been converted.

No outside temperature gauge. That started in 1984.

That was a nice intro vid. I think it's time to get myself on the mailing list.

Did not see that temp gauge. Definitely 1981-1983 have 3 air vents in the center dash.
