I just took my car in on a "car too low -- stop!-- airmatic problem" indicator to a dealership and they replaced the right front strut. A month later the airmatic light came on again. I took it to a second dealership that I use and I was told this was a different airmatic issue and this time it is the compressor is out and needs replacing. Are these two issues related in terms of them malfunctioning/going out?

It is quite possible the failure of your right front strut contributed towards the demise of the compressor pump. The defective strut was causing the compressor pump to work overtime. If you hadn't repaired the faulty strut, the compressor pump would have eventually burned itself out, causing a complete suspension failure.
