Hello everyone! I present you my Zonda/Mercedes Benz V12 with ITBs (92 M120) soon to be powered 280Z. I've been working on this project for almost 3 years. I'll share more as I make new progress. Here is a quick oic of my Z :grin

Sounds like an ongoing project you got there going .Did you measure that the V12 engine will fit under that 280Z bonnet unless you lift the chassis since you mention Zonda and transform it into a Zonda like a Kit car ,those are available to buy for $35000 US dollars already with M120 V12 or with 6 cyl camry engine for $22000 .
What ever the outcome ,make sure that when you ready the only thing you need 100% functioning in that project are the BRAKES , maybe ad a parachute as well ,plan B ,lol.
This car will fly once you finished it .:devil

No, it's going to stay a 280Z. The engine will fit, but the hood (bonnet) will need to be trimmed to allow the ITBs to make their way out of the hood. I've been working on the car for 3 years, 6 months on the engine.

That's what I thought since the M120 engine is a tall long block then ad the transmission to it ends up huge .
So you still assembling the engine or is it ready to fit into the car ,bet you cant wait for it to be over & take the beast for a drive .

Interesting project. Have you worked out what you are doing for engine management? IMHO that will be the most expensive part/achilles heel.

z168,
You are sorely mistaken as to which engine is more robust. The M120 is one of the most
reliable engines ever produced by MB, it is also capable of producing far more power and torque than the M119.
