I noticed on the MBUSA website this morning that there is a new unit for the Command system if you have the media interface. The new box plugs into the media interface in the glove compartment. (must already have the standard media interface)

It looks like the box allows iPhone contact transfers, playing of videos, and streaming radio. Has anyone got one of these yet? Does anyone know the price? Check out mbsua.com and there is an advertisement in the middle to bottom portion of the screen. You can also find it int he accessories for the GLK.

Thanks!

I'm going to be selling my MEDIA PLUS.

It isn't so good in a SLK, when you don't have Multimedia.

1) There isn't much room to plug it in

2) Bluetooth (most impressive feature) and Pandora (in 3G area) work fine

3) I just don't need bluetooth and pandora really.

I have all the original packaging and of course you know it's like new as it just came out.

I will sell it for $230 including Ground Shipping.

PM me if interested.

Retail is $300!

You must have regular Media INterface to add Media PLUS!

I read this does not come out until November? How did you get one so early? Also, what king of phone are you using? I have an iPhone and I am looking to see if it is really worth it or not. Loading contacts from the iPhone is one of my top reasons, but if there is not really much else besides what I can already do connecting my iPhone, this may not be something I will want to have.

Does anybody know what the part number for the iPod video cable is?
The interface plus kit adds bluetooth functions to the existing vehicle kit but does not add the video function mentioned in the ad copy for the media interface plus unless you buy an additional iPod video cable as a separate accessory. This video cable is not included in the media interface plus kit. Although the product manual mentions you need to buy the iPod video cable there is nowhere that I can find information about how to order this cable. The Mercedes parts department at my dealer haven't even seen their parts listing updated to show the interface kit and don't have a clue what I am asking about.

As I know very little about the Media Interface (like I did with the Bi-Xenon Headlamps with active curve illumination :)), have I been awaiting any expert to reply to the thread. In the meantime have I "looked around a little", and found as you state: very difficult to find information as requested.

However did I stumble across the "Media Interface cable set for A/B/C/CLS/E/GLK/SL/SLK" on WEB: Comand Online Ltd :: Mercedes iPod solutions :: Media Interface cable set for A/B/C/CLS/E/GLK/SL/SLK.

Most likely is the relevant cable for the iPod audio interface and not the video cable, but you could e-mail them a question and see, and if so, as well let them confirm that it would meet the video function for your car in question.

The parts manager at the dealer says there are no references he could find regarding the iPod Video Cable for the Media Plus. He said he thinks the lack of references to the actual cable is because it is an item for future release and does not currently exist.
Since there are other "features" mentioned in the sales material that need a future software upgrade to actually happen I think the manager was telling the truth this time.

The parts manager of my local dealership called me today to let me know he did some checking and it sounds like the Ipod/Iphone video cable is probably 2-3 weeks out, despite the documentation stating it would be out in November.

If anyone has heard anything different, let me know, as I am anxious to get this cable.
