When I was a kid and we had Aston Martin's and Jaguars (still think the MkII and XK 120 and up were the greatest looking cars ever) we also had Mercedes.
I used to think the Brit bodied cars with their classy interiors, if paired with German drive trains and electrics/electronics would make for a great blend.
Looking at Rolls Royce and Bentley today,. it has become a reality.

Btw, the most reliable contemporary exotic marque has to be Lamborghini, with its heritage of Audi reliability.
