I dunno. Go look and see.
yes that is what i thought, i will go anyway, he sent me a lot of BS that i didn't ask for, the Cadillac part is questionable, and from one side he said he doesn't want to restore it, and from the other side he removed the interior and deep cleaned ... etc. i don't know what to say. all what he said was a distraction.

Actually, the Texas three Cadillac story sounds almost credible:). I do not know what an AMG engine looks like, but that one looks exactly like mine (an 85 Euro 500sel not AMG). Also, there is no mention of conversion made to US exhaust standards (catalytic converter, etc) when imported. Enjoy your Saturday, maybe its for real but hang on to your wallet.

Update from yesterday's visit.
The car is sitting in the middle of nowhere, in a height dollars ranch that belongs to an oil and gas engineer (the second owner) the first owner passed away 5 years ago in his house lonely surrounded by 15 cats, the cops found out his death after 2 months !! the barn side of the ranch full with rare cars and projects that the guy is working on, VIETNAM ERA TRACKED AMPHIBIOUS VEHICLE KID 8X8 and EL Camino, the guy didn't talk to somebody since months only working on his projects. here are my inputs.

1- Cracks all over the rear panel and door, I believe they are sprayed due to previous accident IMG_1111.jpg . IMG_1132.PNG IMG_1109.jpg IMG_1110.jpg
2- White paint underneath the door handle (white paint over white paint) I believe the sprayed the whole car. IMG_1131.jpg

3- some frame work (I believe) and some welding behind the turn signal on the passenger side and non factory 10mm screw.

Let me know guys how much you will pay for this car if it was for you, I think needs more that 15K parts or maybe more.

If you could get it for a song and dance, it would be a great candidate for something more fun. Given all that would need to be rectified, you're looking at a decent sum of money to be invested so you may as well have fun with it.

I'd give him $1500 for it and head out that way and bring it back here. That thing hasn't been well taken care of, and you can easily question if it's a genuine AMG in the first place. $1500 wouldn't be a huge loss, and you could make that back off parts (though parting out cars really isn't all glamorous and you still tend to lose money rather than making any).

Otherwise it's a basketcase I'd flat out avoid.

Well, given the state it's in, I don't think it's worth bringing it back to its former glory unless there's a ful set of AMG documents of the build (order, build sheet, invoice, etc.) with all the correct engine and VIN numbers.

As a parts vehicle it is interesting. The full aero kit is definitely worth saving and the Clarion system is super-rare and sough after. All the Euro parts are easy to sell as well.

Too bad about the wheels. The car must have lost its original AMG rims somewhere along the way.
