I got a lot of work done
got all the coolers mounted now incl the transmission cooler and the oil cooler
also the bumpers fitted from the facelift model and got the air flow openings in the bumpers cut out
made new intake pipes for the manifold to the throttle body.
got all the axles shortend and fitted under the car so complete drivetrain under the car front to back is ready
got also air intakes in the headlamps to flow cold air straight onto the filters
I have got
the front intake filters and the pipes fitted.
also got the new wiperwash tank in place
and I changed the plan to go for a overpressure system for the cooling system
the overflow tank will be the new installed wiperwash tank if it is big enough.
also go the rear of the car free of rust and put the coating on it also the transmission
tunnel is coated
next will be the fitment of the steering box to the hubs.
also check the rest of the car for rust and get all the cooling pipes
transmission cooling pipes steering hydraulics test fitted, throttle cable has to be fitted and tested
after this the engine bay needs a small sandblast and clean up for primer.
here is the video for this update
yes I got some update's
sorry about me being always late to post something on the forum here
just very busy sometimes
So got the steeringbox and alle linkage in the steering system connected. also the big mod to the front suspension arms are done to keep the steering linkage from hitting in to the suspension arm. on the underside is welded a frame to support it.
also got the rear jackup location restored . all rubber bushings in the suspension are changed for urethane. only the rear subframe mounts are still OEM because the where in good condition and very stuck in the frame
Got all new hossed under the car
2 new oil cooler hoses
3 hoses for the steeringpomp to the steeringbox and cooler
2 hoses for the gearbox to the transmission cooler
also made a custom oil cooler for the steering oil and installed it in front of the transmission oil cooler
no the hoses are testfitted the engine can go out for the last fitment of the plate behind the engine under the front window
the cooling water through the heater in the car is going through
and the throttle cable is also going through
the other holes are welded shut.
engine is out know
so the next thing make space for the manifold pipes that need to pass the steering axle because there is not alot of space i need to mod the passing.
also then the wiring loom needs to be fixed on the passanger side headlamp and then the drivers side wheel arch rust repairs
then it is ready for grit blasting and paint
so the last modification is done to the chassis
on the steering axle side i removed a piece and welded a plate back
in so i have more room to route the downpipes on the driverside for the manifold to under the car
i also replaced the a piece of the engine bay wiring loom
the part for the headlamp on the passenger side was internally burnt because of a fault in the loom
i have replaced this section with a oem piece of a junkyard car
after this i removed the complete wiring loom from the engine bay
to remove the loom you need to disconnect the plugs on the inside of the car from the fuse box
and anothere 3 plug that are placed on the firewall
also the window wipermotor is connected with a plug in the fuse box on the underside
what i think is a weird placement because you can not reach the plug when the fusee box in place
when i removed the loom i labeled all the othere connectors
to make sure i know the located when i needs be installed again
next is the repair on the driverside wheel arch and coating the inside . also grit blast the inside engine bay and paint the inside of the engine bay
finally the engine bay is ready and complete
alle the repair is done
got the inner wheel arch on the driveside repaired and coated in the noxyde coating.
also grit blasted the engine bay to remove all the little bad spots and top rust
the engine bay is first put in the primer and after this it is coated
in a JET BLACK Ral 9005 coating
next is know to put the suspension back under the car so it can go on its wheels
after this the engine and transmission needs to go in incl the diff and axles. now the exhaust is next !!
