Hah. I cant decide if i like or hate the steering wheel, but the red glovebox thing is ugly. nothing a simple parts swap cant fix.

As for the pinstriping, I think ive grown immune. My 91 300sl was the same shade of red with the exact same pinstriping. I considered taking it off before, but it was painted on; so i just grew numb to the stripe.

Theres something about red r129s though... I just wish my sl500 didnt have that hint of pink to it, otherwise I wouldnt consider selling it. As of right now its sitting out in the cold, in the rv parking. I already had one guy leave a note on the front door asking if its for sale... wtf, how did you know I dont drive it?

Your funny....it seems that a simple swap out is OK with you.

I can sorta understand the steering wheel but +1 on why the red eyeglass door?

I think this is an example of not knowing when to stop making changes on a car that already looks good.

Heh, why not? Just find one at a dismantler and replace it.

Just sayin'. If the only thing keeping me from buying the car is a red thing on the dashboard, I could overlook it.

Its like buying a house. I dont mind changing the carpets and repainting a few walls; but if its a teardown, then Ill look elsewhere unless the price is something that would justify such an adventure..

Being that this is Fran Green's personal car does that add or detract from the value ;-) The left bank of her engine seems to be missing the cover for the ignitors or is that part of the enhanced effect?

The green one is not a 1990 - note the side vents - unless they changed the fender

I walked through the auction/car show today and saw the MY 90 green 129 and the MY 97 silver 129 w/ a Pano top neither of witch were anything to rave about. But I was unable to find the Fran Green red 129 Sport.

Fran is a women who uses the SL as her daily driver and is one of the proprietors to the VERDE Classics Cars Museum and she had the 129 painted in Lipstick Red with white pin striping and was able to sell it for $27K..
