Hey all, I'm looking for that "one in a million" mechanic that specializes in older Mercedes Diesels; one that is honest to a fault. I have not had much luck here in the Asheville area with one to work on my '84 300D.
Any recommendations would be appreciated. Thanks.

You should call Shelby Automotive in Shelby, NC and ask for Bob. He's reasonable and he knows the diesel cars

I've had good luck with Goose Creek Automotive in Matthews, Scott knows the diesels well. They had a few 300Ds and wagons in the shop last time I was there as well as a parts yard of old 116, 123, and 126s.

And as a backup EU Auto in Charlotte, they've got one guy on staff Jerry who knows them well too, but they aren't the best at scheduling. Good work, just not fast.
