Hello all. I would appreciate a recommendation for a truly knowledgeable MB mechanic to inspect a 380sl that I am considering buying. The car is in Memphis. Should I go to the Memphis Benz dealer, or does someone know a good mechanic in Memphis?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am new to the world of the 107 chassis, and I think I've finally found the perfect car for me to buy.

Thanks!

Been too many years since I lived there, but I WOULD NOT go to the dealer. I used them for warranty service and while they were ok, I always seemed to have a slight door ding when I picked up the car.....

Carolina560,

Someone here may know a specific source for you; if not, try the link below to another forum that lists Indy MB Shops by State as recommended by other owners. Look under the Tenessee Tab, I'm sure you'll find a good one.

Good MB Shops - ShopForum

If no luck there, try OurSL - the World’s Largest Online Mercedes-Benz SL Community
They just put up a similar referral page on their site.

Good Hunting!
