My GPS is lost, it thinks I am in another city. The event leading up to this problem was when I started the car few days ago the engine dies immediately and display a message in the milege display window. At that time I couldn't make out what exactly is the message. I restarted the engine and everything works fine except GPS is no longer able to obtain any satellites.

I have tried the follwoing:

1. parked the car at an open space with the system on for 30 minutes.
2. took out the antena and inspect for damages
3. removed fuse #21 for 15 minutes
4. remove negative ground from battery for 15 minutes
5. insert and resert MCS CD
6. check connections under passenger seat
7. check connections behind mcs unit

Today is the third day where the system is unable to obtain any satellites.

Hey "W"......This is a common problem......Looks like you will need a new GPS antennae.....l had the exact same problem....l tried everything...then l just changed the GPS antennae, the one, with a white grommet that seals much better against the roof...l'm pretty sure, it is a moisture issue....Hope that helps....lf you do get a new one, make sure the white grommet comes with it.....

Hi C-ROD, you are right. I just received the cheapo alpine GPS antenna and after I connected to the MCS unit it immediately found all the satellites. Navigation is working again.

thanks!
