Hello:
I recently got a 1976 MB450 sel (8cyl CI) with 140k on it. Car drives well and has full power.
However, it starts to smoke from the exhaust pipe when idling (blue smoke associated with burning oil).
Checked all sparkplugs and they are clean with no soot deposits. Valve seals were changed recently to fix
the problem and the mechanic told us the smoke will go away in a few days. However, there is still some after
500 miles of driving. What should I get checked next?
yonael

It may be bad rings. You might want to try some of that Restore additive. I've heard that it works from others but I have never used it myself.
