Hi,

I'm seeing this alert in my MB since some days and i don't have any clue what it is. Any help please?

I've been trying to find it out in the users manual but with no luck at all...

I thought so too but i checked the back seats and they are properly fixed...

Every time I start my engine I see a similar symbols in the cluster as well . However, it should disappear a few seconds after you start your engine, mine goes out

Yes, it goes away within a few seconds... kind of annoying tough...

I believe it must be related to seatbelts ,the trick is to press back button (top left hand side of the steering wheel ) to make it go away w/o waiting .I will give it a try today

But it is shown even when nobody is sitting in the back seats

I'm trying to find out what can be wrong that makes this message to be shown...

Did you check for dirt or coins in the rear seat buckles? Take a vacuum to them. Then buckle them in and start the car. If the message is gone, unbuckle and restart. If the message comes back, maybe there's a bad sensor somewhere.

It could be a faulty switch/sensor that is responsible for sensing whether the seats are folded or not. At least that would be my guess.

Interesting....I have a 2010 e550 and have never seen this symbol and have not come across it in the owners manual

Do you open the rear doors before setting off?

I have had another car (non-MB) that would indicate this only if the rear doors had been opened.
