Im planning on moving someone from england to spain in my 312 mwb hi roof sprinter and have just suddenly had a panic!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What is the maximum weight i can lug in it? Would I need to upgrade my tyres to a reinforced tyre?

Also what precautions can I take vehicle wise? I have been having a slight overheating problem recently. The temp rises to 100 if i drive it hard on the motorway or if the temp outside is hot, considering i will be in spain at the height of the summer I'm a little concerned. Should I change the thermostat to a summer one? Sorry for all these questions but I'd rather be safe than sorry!

One last question, if you could take ONE precautionary item for the van what would it be. I know when i used to have a saab the main thing to go was the di cartridge so one was always in the boot!

Many thanks

Hello Jay

First of all I would say the max weight is the same as it is here, 3500Kgs(Max) and at a guess the payload is about 1200Kgs,
With regards to reinforced tyres you should have them on here as if you are involved in a accident carrying goods your insurance could be null and void, and you could poss get done for having no insurance.

With regards to to your overheating problem you need to get it sorted before you go at garage.but when I went to south of france last year I took out AA euro cover and cost about £23 but worth the peice of mind.
