When I pulled the door panel off looking for vacuum leaks I found that my master vacuum switch was making a hissing noise when the door is locked. Is it leaking or is that how they are?

Yes and yes. They tend to hiss and if it is severe enough then they need to be replaced. Any small leak will empty the reservoir over a period of time and cause the central locking system to fail to unlock but shouldn't affect shut off once the car is running. What is your car doing that you decided to look for the leak?

It will not lock or unlock, running or not. They haven't worked for a very long time and i'm just trying to make them work again. I have vacuum on the solid yellow line inside the drivers door but nothing in the others. Could you tell me where the common leaks are found. I found that the yellow-green and yellow-red were brocken in the door hinge area.
