Hi All

I have just picked up a lovely little commuter car, A Class W168 year 2006 Avantguarde 5 speed manual.

It drives really well but one thing I have noticed is that the manual gear shift seems really 'light' when selecting gears and does not have the normal firm feel when you go into a gear. I can very easily tap the gear stick out of gear with my finger, not taking any effort. On occasion the gear stick pops out of gear into neutral if I go over a bump etc?
All the gears work fine, I am suspecting its either the plastic mechanism directly below the gear shift inside the car has worn, or could it be the linkages in the engine a the gearbox that need attention?

Any help would be really appreciated.

Thanks
