The fuel guage of my 1995 W210 pre-facelifted recently mal-functuioned. The needle
of the guage will point out and remain at the full tank mark position while the engine is
turned on and during driving. No matter how I used up the gas, the needle would not
move down as it should be. I replaced the Fuel Sending Unit with a new one but the
problem remains unchanged. Any help, please.

Welcome to the forum, Kitj. Please take a moment to complete your user profile ("User CP" link) with your location and vehicle model/year.

I would also first suspect the sending unit. Since that didn't fix it, you are left with the cluster and wiring.

Do you know if the low fuel indicator lamp is working?

Check the wires to the sender unit , they could be shorted . When the car is reading full the sender unit reads 0 ohms , and if the wires short than the guage will read full .

Thanks, Matt. This was my first post. I have no idea how to complete
user cp link (what is cp link). Anyway, mine is a 1995 E230.
The low fuel indicator lamp just works fine.

Just look for the link that says "User CP" on the 210 forum main page.

That your low-fuel indicator works means that it is not a mechanical problem. I also do not remember which end of the scale is a dead short (or a dead open), but a wiring problem sounds like the most probable. Now, how to diagnose it...

Thanks again, Matt. I will try to check the wirings as suggested. Meantime,
do you have any wiring diagram on this part.
