So just did a compression test and the results where much better than the first test I did. I did it cold
1: 9,3 bar, 135 psi
2: 9,3 bar, 135 psi
3: 9 bar, 132 psi
4: 9 bar, 131 psi
5: 9,8 bar, 139 psi
6: 9 bar, 131 psi
7: 9,8 bar, 140 psi
8: 9 bar, 130 psi
9: 9,8 bar, 140 psi
10: 8 bar, 120 psi
11: 9 bar, 132 psi
12: 7,8 bar 112 psi

The sparkplugs where dirty, man I have never seen them this dirty. Loads of cake was on the electrodes and the pin.

The compression results make me quite confident that the engine is sucking oil through the PCV.

Could it be that all the oil that is left inside of the catalytic converters is burning up on a cold start?
It is alot of blue smoke that it is producing upon startup

Another theory, could the overpressure of the exhaust gases not escaping properly cause the oil in the crankcase to be forced into the crankcase ventilation system?
In that case, unblocking my cats would solve the issue

I've partially unbolted the exhaust and the engine runs much better now. The massive vibration is still here but that doesn't seem to be because of misfires.
I'm suspecting that my front engine mounts are gone.

Now I've also looked into the documentation to figure out if the oxygen sensors are involved in misfire detection. If they are, it's expected that we don't get any misfire counts.
Spoiler alert: they are not involved with misfire counts. My engine really started to run without any misfires with the exhaust removed 🎉🎉

By the way, I noticed that with the exhaust partially unbolted and giving full throttle, there was quite some smoke coming from the car.
Now I have rather dirty pistons, could that be the pistons clearing themselves up?

Up next:
  • Unbolt the exhaust completely
    • Inspect the cats and act appropriately
  • Replace the engine mounts
  • Install the exhaust
  • Go for a drive!
  • Get a beer

Has anybody got any ideas? The car still runs rough with the exhaust removed.
I've ordered a sparkplug tester to see if the sparkplugs are working as they should.

I'm also preparing to clean the fuel injectors with some carburetor cleaner.

Furthermore, the blue smoke seems to come from the drivers side bank only.

Could an M137 expert comment in on this?

Please do keep in mind that I've removed the oxygen sensors from the car, so the ECU has no feedback from the exhaust gasses.

What I'd like to reach is that the ECU goes back to it's default mixture state, which should work just fine I think.
Please do let me know if you think that this is not how it's supposed to work

With the PCV system disconnected, and the PCV to oil separator line plugged (at the oil seperator side), it still burns oil.
Can I assume that it is sucking in oil through the oil separator now? Or could this still be the excess carbon buildup on the pistons?

Alright, results are in (I'll be double posting this for sure)
I've connected the PCV system as it should and it seems like it is smoking a lot less, after the initial residue was burned off.

Compression is fine:
1: 9.2 bar, 134 psi
2: 9.2 bar,134 psi
3: 9.5 bar, 135 psi
4: 9.8 bar,138 psi
5: 9.9 bar, 142 psi
6: 11 bar,155 psi
7: 9.8 bar, 140psi
8: 10 bar, 141 psi
9: 10 bar, 141 psi
10: 8.6 bar, 124 psi
11: 10.5 bar, 150 psi
12: 8.8bar, 123 psi

The sparkplugs didn't look that good however, but they sparked just fine (I've tested it with a spark tester)!

I think at this point, she needs an italian tune-up to get rid of the misfires and to clear all the gunk out of the cylinder.

It's going to be tough to find a place to do that, since this thing reaches mach 2 in no time.
