Does this spacer work or is it a scam? Well, increasing the intake length is going to increase midrange power and therefore torque, but not at wide open throttle.

How much benefit does it give? For a typical throttle body thickness of 10mm, which gives a 3.5% increase in intake manifold length, they claim to achieve 5 hp. So on the M119, that would be about 1.5% improvement.

Compare to M113, where roughly a 100% increase in intake manifold length yields roughly 17hp more at 2750rpm, which is a 5.5% improvement.

So, assuming that the relationship between intake length and power gain is roughly linear, by proportion you might expect the increase from a spacer to be around 3.5/100 x 5.5 = 0.2%, or 0.5hp.

Does it stack up? Of course a spacer will increase midrange hp and torque, but would the increase be only barely measurable at best? I let you decide.
