Does this spacer work or is it a scam? Well, increasing the intake length is going to increase midrange power and therefore torque, but not at wide open throttle.
How much benefit does it give? For a typical throttle body thickness of 10mm, which gives a 3.5% increase in intake manifold length, they claim to achieve 5 hp. So on the M119, that would be about 1.5% improvement.
Compare to M113, where roughly a 100% increase in intake manifold length yields roughly 17hp more at 2750rpm, which is a 5.5% improvement.
So, assuming that the relationship between intake length and power gain is roughly linear, by proportion you might expect the increase from a spacer to be around 3.5/100 x 5.5 = 0.2%, or 0.5hp.
Does it stack up? Of course a spacer will increase midrange hp and torque, but would the increase be only barely measurable at best? I let you decide.
so I’m a new to the r129 world after tradings a old vw for one. I’ll throw some pictures in here too of the bug I currently drive. Not the one I traded.
I tried running my vin to get all the info I could on it and it can’t be decided which leads me to believe it’s a jdm import. Can...
I hope you all are safe and healthy during this crazy time we’re living in.
For some reason I’m having difficult finding somewhere to purchase lowering springs for my R129. Can anyone link me to lowering springs? Preferably 2” or more drop. Thanks in advance!
My EHA control developed a leak in the body so I replaced it with a new one from Bosch. Some time later I tested my duty cycle and come up with 0% which means the engine is running rich beyond the
EHA leaning limit. Prior to the new EHA I had the indy Mercedes shop replace all the vacuum tubing...
Was doing a transmission service and bought a new T30 socket from AutoZone to remove the bolts and as you can see from the attached, it didn't go well. I was using a 3/8 ratchet so didn't think I had enough torque to snap it. Any thoughts on how to proceed?
My first thoughts were to drill out...
Just noticed after some work at my indie that my mpg gauge is swinging across the dial up and down, and very slow to return to 0 - used to be very controlled and was always the same. What and where is the trigger for this from the EZL? I have also noticed that the shift point from 4th to 5th (...
