Thank you for the well wishes. The car is actually in very good condition with low original miles, no rust and has never been in an accident. The car was imported to California and is reported to be one of the first 4 cars to be brought over with the 6.0L 32v motor. It spent its entire life in California and was for sale for many years without a motor until a Florida dealer scooped it and brought it to Miami in 2019. They put it on the market for three and a half times what it was for sale in CA for! I sure wish I would have seen it for sale in CA, but I ended up getting it from them after they had it for a while. I didn't pay what they were asking, but they made plenty of money!
I do realize that I can build an engine from a regular Mercedes M117 but being that the car is a genuine AMG and not a clone, I truly believe that it deserves another AMG engine. I don't mind having an engine properly built with the correct parts as long as I have an AMG block to start with. This is why I am looking to purchase any AMG M117 engine (or possibly an M119.960 6.0L) and go from there.
I did just join AMG Classics yesterday and hopefully someone there may be able to help me get this very special car back on the road!
