Anyone? I was just going to spray the little orifice near the cold start injector with carby cleaner and go from there...

Basically, once the car reaches operating temperature, and I am over 75% throttle, the car belches smoke out quite badly... And with only 105,000 miles on the car, I don't think it's rings. Valve stem seals were done 20,000 miles ago...

I removed the aluminum housing on mine and soaked it in carb cleaner. Blew it out and reinstalled. Just be careful with the hoses if they are original, they'll be very stiff. Although the inside of my engine is very clean, my pcv orifice was packed full of crud.

I won't say cleaning the pcv will cure your problem, but it is certainly a good place to start.

Thanks mate!

I'd rather cross off the easy stuff before going down the harder and more expensive route...

My car has always puffed a bit of blue/black but it's getting quite worse under acceleration, but only at operating temperature. Also on cold start, when you first start the car it struggles to rev. Which certainly suggests something to do with the idle/cold start system...
