I've started this project 2 months ago . My genuine carpet on the A and C pillar was dirty and damaged, so I've tried to replace it... This was the beginning.
I bought ca. 6 m2 fabric, and I used TESA ultra strong spray glue to fix it to the old carpet. All of the plastic parts was repainted with resin-based paint ( ivory color).
Here is the final result!

every part of the roof and pillars are covered with beige suede and painted to ivory.

That must have taken you at least 2-3 hours to do.[JUST KIDDING]
I can just imagine the amount of work that went into this project.
The cell phone puts it over the top. Do you have matching shoes and jacket.
It makes your ML look like a million bucks (US).

wow. id like to attempt that. Im afraid to ruin the headliner though. How much time went into that? How much did the materials cost if you dont mind me asking?

Dear Big Dogger,

I was afraid a little bit, but I think it was worth it. The total cost was 25.000 Ft, it's changed to bucks... well, ca. 120 $.
The time, that I've spent to made it, well it' s a good question. The upholstery was 4-5 days (ca. 40-50 hours), The main time of the project was painting of the plastic parts. (8-10 layers) It's interesting, but the hardest thing was removing the plastic parts.
It took 1,5 months overall, cause it's just a hobby for me. If you have any questions, please contact me!

Thanks. Unfortunately after 10 years of ownership I sold it to a very nice gentleman in CT a couple of months ago. Right now it is sitting next to two other w126's. But there is likely another w126 in the future....and probably a few more w163's. Dont think I will find one with an interior as nice as yours though!

It is in my signature. The ML320 and the E55 AMG. My 996 has a suede headliner. I appreciate the feel of it. I have seen pictures in Excellence Magazine of some porsche with suede on the dash and so forth.

started this on mine yesterday ,started with the pillars didn't realise how dirty these look until you have them out.Sticking with the original colour though and will set aside a full day to pull the roof lining out. This is the why BW is so good,we all get to see each others efforts. Well done

Yes, it really doesn't appear, how dirty, as long as you removed it. I am glad that topic helped you. Could you show me, if you'll be ready with it?
