So the ONLY sanfu I have had with my car after my little boo boo was a dead battery... I was exahusted from moving and came home and left my headlights on in the garage... Oops...
I wound up getting an OEM battery because it was $156 and every one else wanted over $200 and knowing its under the back seat and its an Huge AGM battery figured it was best...
Well come to find out, my Battery was 13 years old.. The Factory original...

Is this unusal? Also whats the warranty for a battery from the Stealership?

original battery used for 13 years????? WT.....

it's like me.. few years ago, driven on broken front axle for two years, we are both very lucky.

btw, most people say that the battery only lasts for about 5 years. Mine has 8 years now, it works fine.

I guess it's how u use the car. With batteries its hard to stamp a definite time expiration.

But looks like u got some luck i suppose.

However, how do you know that it just wasn't replaced with a new one from Mercedes?

The OEM battery does seem to have an amazingly long life. Looking at the nearly complete service history I have for my car it does not show that the battery was ever replaced and an OEM battery is sitting there. So I feel that it is safe to assume that I too am still running the original battery after 10 years and 152,000mi. The car still starts perfectly every time even in the cold.

When/if this battery does ever decide to die I will most certainly replace it with another OEM one. With how good they seem to work it seems silly not to.

Vow....13 years...is that maintenance free or add-fluid type?

How are you so sure it is 13 years and never changed once?

Mine is also original. 2000 E320, so ~13 years old. Starts perfectly. Now since I posted this, I know I jinxed it.

The battery in our ML320 lasted for over 12 years as well. Spanish made. For E300 I bought $80 battery in Costco. Having 100 months warranty it got weak in the month 49. Costco refunded me about $40.
