lug nut problem with 1998 E320

I have a 1998 E320. I just purchased 17"authentic MBZ rims that came off a 2003 E320. The lugnuts from my 98 will not work with the new wheels. The lug pattern is the same, but Mercedes changed the bolt size in 2003. My old lugs are narrower in diameter so they will not seat tight in the new wheels. THE MBZ bolts designed for the 2003 rims are fatter in shaft diameter, so the threads will not fit into my rotors. I am aware that this is a problem that may not be able to be fixed, but hopefully someone has come across this before and can offer some advice and or solution. Thanks in advance for any input.

Search this forum for lug bolts. There was a recent thread explaining how to resolve this problem - well at least one possible solution. I remember something like making a special bolt that can properly seat on the wheel but with a 12mm thread. I believe the 2003+ models (W211) have 14mm threads.
