cheapest way is cutting coils. Ask Socal_Dan my cousin's shop cut his coils and it felt great.
Do you have before and after pics?Unless youre cutting it with a torch or a plasma cutter i dont see any danger at all.
I cut it with a wheel grinder if you have some powerful spring compressors you could do it on the spot and do both in like a half hour.Do you have before and after pics?
What was it cut with?

I actually did it with the same compressors as this diy, except i didnt disconnect the control arms. I compressed the spring agains the top mount until it came off the lower control arm. Then cut away.http://www.benzworld.org/forums/w140-s-class/1370970-diy-lowering-cut-springs.html
here is a thread about it
I Would never do it on an jap import. Benz is completely different story. Our springs have 11 coils? While imports have 4? At most and theirs are usually struts.... and the way their suspension is set up their drop will affect the camber more than the benz.......I would never cut springs, I have seen too many bad things from it in the Import world. If your suspension is not done right then you will be wasting money on tires. Springs are cheap to buy & worth the investment to get it done right the first time...
thats the look on my 98. only front suspension modification. havent touched the back at all (original shocks and coils)Looks like I will end up lowering the w140.
I'm not looking for Mega drop. Probably 1.5inch front drop. Rears will not change I like an aggressive stance, and this will keep cost down as well.
What's the best option? Ill probably replace the front struts too but they are not bad. Just not all that new either.
