I am looking at a pre-owned 4 month old CLK55 with 1,500 miles. It was traded in for a BMW M3.

This CLK 55 has standard amg 17' wheels. The distance between fender wells and tire is only about 1' front and back. It abviously has been lowered.

The used car salesman thinks it is a plus. I am concerned that this car which has been lowered by 1 1/2 inch or 2 inches and would void the MB warranty re suspension.

There might also be problems with wheel alignments, uneven tire wear, etc.

Shall I buy this car? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Many thanks.

if it were raised 2", the salesman would say thats a plus also.
Im quite sure that if you have problems with suspension, alignments etc, that you would be on your own, warranty wise.

Of course, thing non suspension will still be covered.
