Sounds like lock actuator may be malfunctioning current replacement part 1647400635, here are compatible part #s to shop used. See attachments for inspection/replacement.

Loud noise with soft close
The gesture on my 2004 E500 wagon has stopped working. It makes this awfully loud buzzing noise when closed. this seems different from the usual vacuum leak which causes the whole thing to be inoperational.
Suggestions?
