Recently I’ve noticed a rattle coming from the undercarriage
of my car. It’s more like a clanking sound & when I brake,it
doesn’t make the noise. So if I’m driving on a bumpy road, there’s
a lot of rattling. When I apply the brakes, it stops?
My brakes are fairly new. I was wondering if there’s a paste or
something else that stops this sound.

I know definitely it has to do with the brakes.
When I brake the noise stops. It almost feels like
the pads are loose or something? I replaced my front pads 2 days ago & I
checked everything up front to see if anything is loose.
Maybe I should check the rears (emerg.brakes, pads?)

I have had this problem fitting aftermarket pads. Some are just complete #@!*. if it sounds like it's coming from the front double check that they are fitted correctly. In particular th wing shaped spring on the pad. If all is in order take them back and get some genuine ones.

I checked everything in the front and rear undercarriage.
The pads are on securely & they also look firm in place. The
only other thing else I can think of is, maybe wheel bearings?

Wheel bearings would normally give a rotational hum when they start to fail. 190E wheel bearing seem to last for ages, in fact I can't ever remember changing any. (I'm not saying they don't go, before eveyone tells me they have replaced theirs.)[:)]
I always use a copper grease when installing new pads this is good for eliminating brake noises, normally squeaking though. Does the sound come from the front or rear?

Annoying sound gone.......

Bingo !
Took off one of my rear tires yesterday & located where the clanking
sound was coming from. One of the "Anti-rattle clips"(brake caliper spring) was
missing & the pads were vibrating. I temporarily used a home-made clip, installed
it & the clanking sound went away. I'll purchase a clip tonight.
