So I have read allthe post and im still lost on she'll and tire fitment.

I found some nice amg wheels at a nice price but don't know if they will work I need help I don't want these to slip away from me. The seller thinks them came off a SL 550.amg.

I have a 98 e320 sedan with stock wheels.

The wheels in question are.
5x112
18x8.5 245/45/18
18x9.5 275/45/18

With a 30 offset

The seller also has two new tires that are 225/40/18 if those are a better fit.

The number on the back of the wheel is A 230 401 2002 not sure what that means.

They probably won't work for you. I just looked at the official tire fitment chart for mercedes and the w210 chassis you have (me too) lists only 235 40R18 tire size for 18x8.5" rims with an offset of 25 for the front and 265 35R18 tires for 18x10" rims with an offset of 25 for the rear. The tires you are looking at are for an S series which are generally 1" taller overall the E series tires. I tried 2 different sets of S tires and wheels on my E and both jammed right into that previously mentioned nut. Also remember that your chassis takes a 12mm lug bolt and the S takes a 14mm lug bolt. You can certainly use the rims, just not the tires. You might have to get the special lug bolts from one of the specialty stores listed in the sticky about tires and wheels to properly mount the rims.
