Neubie here.

I have had this 99 E320 for about 6 months. Got a P0602 a few months back, and so I did the valve covers/breathers since there was lots of oil around the coils.

Yesterday, I was on the freeway and got a CEL, and this time it felt a little funny. When I got off the freeway the idle was very rough and acceleration from the stop was very slow and rough. At one point I thought it would just stop, but then some cylinder(s) kicked back in. Crawled to mom's house.

After an hour I decided to check the car and it started and ran fine. Took it the 40 miles home no problem.
Got home and scanned stored faults: got codes P0600, P0602, P0604,P0606.
(i.e. randomn misses, miss #2, miss#4, miss#6)
-What could cause missing on one bank?
-What could clear when the car was off for a spell?

I'm gonna change the fuel filter

thanks in advance, I've learned a lot here already. Like it needs an evaporator core too, ugh

That is not in one bank - you've got a V6, so 1, 2 3 and 4, 5, 6 are each in a bank.
So it's something affecting both banks. Fuel filter is a very good start. My SLK 320 once did about the same. Switching off cleared the problem, replacing the fuel filter solved the problem.

Buy Bosch or Mann fuel filter only - the other no-brand and store brand fuel filters (China) have some issues of their own.

Online source for Bosch or Mann should be less than $40, like oft mentioned autohausaz.com.

You can add a Mann air filter or fleece oil filter to meet $50 order for free standard shipping.

Keep the beat !

Ah right you are.
I guess my Alfa had even and odd banks.

I have a filter in the garage, I just need to get some rings from the stealer.

Or the special Hazet tool to remove the existing ones (I'm assuming you mean the clamps?), they are reusable.
