Last night I reached into my pocket to pull out the fob to start my ML320 and found that the metal key that fits into the fob was gone! Dont know how this happened, because its not that easy to remove it normally. Luckily I could still start my truck without it.

My question is, is the only place to get a replacement is at the dealer and how much would it cost, or can I go to a good key shop and get a replacement?

I live in the Hamilton area and any help would be appreciated.
Thx.
By the way I love my MB!

Not 100% sure here this but my money is on going to a dealer. Surely that metal blade key should not cost that much.

There are some locksmiths that can cut them, and you can buy the blanks on ebay. But really it's not worth it, to save $5-10 at least IMHO. Just cruise to the dealer, usually between $20-30.
