Hello Benz World Members

I am looking for R107 Air Condition complete part set including the center ac control panel switch. A brand new parts or a working used AC parts. My R107 is 1988 420SL Right Hand Drive UK Version that came without Air Condition.
(note: I did contacted SL Shop UK but they don't have it in stock)

I really appreciate any information about where to buy the AC set.

Thank you

It looks like noting is crossing to the 560SL, so you will probably be best if you can find a UK hosted sight.

Hello Roncallo

Honestly I don't know how the AC version of this car suppose to be. The car is in the process of restoration. When I bought it, the car had been parked for 2 to 3 years

The Center panel pic is like this, only heater I think:

I can only suggest looking for someone breaking a car and try to salvage the parts, however this will be a big ask of the breaker and the builder.

If the UK only had the early version you're lucky. Less to go wrong.

No, I think it will be a case of waiting for the correct breaker car on ebay etc.

I have a couple of numbers you can try, I will PM them to you, one guy who breaks 107s and another that rebuilds them.

Looks like the AC lines will probably be coming out on the right side of the engine compartment. That would put the US parts out of the question.

At the very least, the evaporator assembly would likely be totally different from a LHD, U.S. car. If you don't care about the AC being all original, a modern variable swash plate compressor, with a simple expansion orifice, using R134a would give the best cooling performance. That type of system relies on pressure sensors and a control module.

Hello Turbo510

If I can not find the original AC set for this car then I will take that route to install aftermarket AC

Thank you

As promised, here is a list of all the major parts you will need and the cars they are used on. One word of caution: Just because a part number is used on a certain model does not mean it is used on all cars of that model. But I think if you get parts from a 1986 to 1989 RHD 500SL with manual air you will be pretty safe.

Also for some reason I could not find the controls or the compressor for the 420SL in EPC.
