Hello guys..
I need to change a few things on my 84 380SL and need your help finding stuff..
So i need a full engine overhaul kit to change all the bushings and what not. I also need to get a full exhaust system as it is a little rusty and needs attention ASAP.

Any idea where those can be found?

I don't know of any bushings in the engine. Why does the engine need rebuilding?
As for exhaust try a search. I am sure you will find threads with suppliers mentioned.

I saw the bushings and the exhaust system for my cars on AutohausAZ.com. They will likely have yours as well. Also, I had a local muffler shop replace my muffler and tail pipe from the resonator back, with a dual chrome tip for around $200. They could have done the whole system, but I didn't need it.

I know what an engine overhaul kit is. Are you referring to some other system?

Does he mean to be saying bearings instead of bushings, or maybe he needs a suspension kit with new bushings in addition to the Engine rebuild? I thnk we need clearification.

As far as I know there is no complete kit for the rebuild. The Classic Center can put together the individual parts needed. The major problem is the cost. My opinion is there is no way to justify the expense of a total rebuild for a 1984 380SL. It would be more cost effective to buy a used engine or a rebuilt long block.

True, the engine is fine, i just double checked with the mechanic. He is looking for an overhaul kit to get all the seals..etc at once and save us the hassle of looking for separate parts which will be more expensive that way. He is also looking for full body and suspension bushings (this is where i got confused) :)
Thank you very much for the help guys... ive looked at the different options you shared and will definitely be useful

Help us out here. 'All the seals' is still pretty vague. An engine block gasket set would have 'all' the gaskets and seal for the entire engine, but would require pulling and completely tearing down and reassembling the engine.

What manner of oil leaks are you attempting to address?

This isn't as complicated as these folks are making it sound. Your mechanic wants two head gasket sets, left and right, and a lower engine set. Have a look here: Mercedes M116 Engine Parts.

If we don't have everything you want, please check the BenzWorld Supporting Vendors section for other parts suppliers.

You are over simplifying it. The question originally was engine over haul kit. To me that means, rings, bearings. valve guides and seals etc. That is what I answered.

The leak is very minor and is coming from the rear crankshaft seal.

But i need to replace all body and suspension bushings too as they are worn out..

Cheers

The rear crank seal can be had for 15USD to 20USD online. The lower seal and gasket set I linked has that seal in it, for 95USD. The head sets Germanstar spoke of do not have that seal, he does also list the lower seal and gasket set.

Those are available as pieces, no complete kit though, at any of the links in this thread.

Thank you..
Ive been looking at different websites and these bushings seem very cheap but i live in Dubai and the shipping cost will be more expensive than the parts price but i think this is still my best option as dealers here will charge a fortune - they make so much margins!

Thanks for the help and sorry for not having the details in my profile, my bad. Details updated now

Yeah, I thought you might be somewhere besides North America. We're spoiled as far as parts availability is concerned.

Among other things. :D
