well i just installed my avic-d3 with the xm unit. for the installation of the gps antennas i removed my stock gps antenna on the roof and took all the guts out to make room inside for the the new antennas. well it was all sucessful untill i took my first drive, and apparently didnt secure it correctly. well the shell to the antenna flew off.. so i need a new shell for the stock antenna or just the complete assembly and i'll hollow it out again!!! HELP!!

There is an alternative antenna placement. If you have a rain sensor (located at the rearview mirror base), you can route the antenna up the A pillar, across via the inside edge of the ceiling/windscreen and simply pop the antenna pad into the sensor housing. No drilling, disassembly/reassembly etc needed. Simple, really - you just need something to wedge the cable at the ceiling edge.
You can then cap the hole for the old antenna.
