okay i read alot of the forms posted by other members on black smoke and running rich i cleaned out my idle air control valve,cleaned out injectiors,checked all vaccum lines,ran injectior cleaner though the tank,adjusted the idle/fuel mixture,its still runs really rich where the black smoke comes out and marks my drive way smells really rich badly so i dont know what else to do im hands on guy like to try to do things my self and learn as i go please help oh by the way the car is a 1988 560 sec 5.6 motor:bowdown::bowdown::dunno::dunno:

How did you adjust your air fuel mixture? Turn the adjustment CCW for leaner fuel more air. Turn it 1/8th of a turn at a time and rev the throttle after each turn just to see where the idle sets. Adjust the screw only when the engine is at running temp (80-85C). When you are turning the screw listen for the engine idle to smooth out. Then rev the motor and listen for it either bogging down (still too rich) or it sounds like it is choking out (too lean). when you get to either point turn another 1/8th either CCW to make it more lean or CW to make it more rich.
I do not have the Bosch adjustment tool but my mechanic showed me the above process for getting it at least close enough that it will run well.
If you cannot adjust out the rich condition then I would look at either a leaking or misfiring cold start injector, a leaking fuel pressure regulator or defective or flooding fuel distributor.
Pulling spark plugs and looking for wet plugs may clue you in as well.

I would guess your fuel distrubutor is going out. Mine went out and the 4 back cylinders were gas fouling out and the car ran really rich. I have extras if you need one. $50 plus shipping.

A core charge for a fuel distributor is higher than what aroundthescenes sold it for, and deserves a positive response for 'help received.'

Well lets you know what kind of people do lurk on the board. As I stated before, I now will only deal with some close friends on the board, it only takes one to ruin the whole experience of trying to help others, and once you lose that trust is is hard to get back.
This member does not even reply to PM or emails since he gave some stupid story about mailing the payment to a completely wrong address and saying he would re mail it.
I would recommend for anyone here not to deal with him.
He still has time to man up and make things right, but that seems like a long shot.

sorry to hear that happened Kurt. Add BW member "coletrain777" to that list as I sent him a pair of 560 camshafts over a year ago and have still yet to be paid. Check was "lost in the mail."

It is very sad that a few can spoil it and cause others to distrust.
I guess I have been very fortunate with those I have dealt with on this forum and have only got the greatest trust and respect for them - make sure you don't let a couple of rotten eggs colour your perception of how, I believe, the great bulk of members behave - honourably.

This guy Danberg1 emailed me a few weeks ago and asked me about some parts. I told him they had been sold already, which they had been. Then when Kurt told me of this I wrote him myself and told him we are a tight knit group and we all keep each other informed about mooches...
simple solution... anyone who doesnt pay... go to their house, "convince them" to pay you (you can improvise the convincing part)(also make them pay extra for the transportation and time wasting), go home, count cash, be good 
and be sure to videotape the whole thing and post it to front page so nobody will try it again!
