Hey...does anyone know where i can get used all clear headlight assemblies? I have the old yellow fog lamp lenses (which are now worn and cracking) and the recessed headlight on my '85 190E 2.3 Im looking for those euro lights, either used or cheap. Thanks

Second hand headlights are as expensive in this part of the world as new ones. I've even tried to buy them in the UK, Portugal and Australia. Forget it! Cheap, second hand lights for these cars (in the Euro style) are just too expensive and too rare for what they are.

The problem is, we all hate these ridiculous US headlights - not just on 190s, but on all Benzes. I have a 280SL with those ridiculous looking headlights on it. They're ugly and they don't work. As a result, there is a large demand for the Euro style lights for all model Benzes.

My advice, save your money, call up Capitol West <www.capitolwest.com> and they'll sell you a set to suit a 190 for about US$400. Hope that's some help.

They changed their prices now it's $340 per pair. It was $290, but they bumped it up $10 a week for a while. Still good price.

Lenses

Is there any way i can just replace the covers with clear ones? I know its a whole rim...I believe they are called headlight "gates" or "doors"...I saw a pair on E-Bay for $150, but thats rediculious. Is that what I should expect to pay?
